For Teens...

Dear Friends,

Welcome to the Teen Resource Center. These may be difficult times for you. Perhaps an aging family member has moved in with you and has Alzheimer's Disease. Or maybe one of your parents has just been diagnosed with it. Very few people really understand the weight that you are carrying.

We set up this Resource Center to give people like you a place to get information, education and support. This community is made up of people like you -- teens -- as well as caring and respectful professionals who want to help you get through these tough times.

This Resource Center is all about teens. We have set up a few areas for people who relate to teens (such as parents, counselors and medical professionals). But the interactive features of the Resource Center are restricted to teens only. That means that your privacy will be respected. Only our community organizers will have access to the chat rooms, message boards and mailing list. However, in the rare case that we we see an emergency situation or dangerous, illegal or abusive behavior, we may have to contact the police or your parents.

Please share this site with your parents, friends and teachers. Only through education can we hope to erase the negative stereotypes associated with Alzheimer's Disease.

Very Truly,
Rich O'Boyle (ElderCare Online) and Eric Hall (LIAF)
