For Parents...

Dear Parents,

ElderCare Online's Teen Resource Center is a joint production of ElderCare Online and The Long Island Alzheimer's Foundation. This site is intended to give teens ages 13-19 who are coping with a loved one with Alzheimer's Disease a safe place to come for information, education and support. While parents, counselors and clinicians are welcome (indeed we have resources for you as well), this site is intended for teens.

This Resource Center is all about teens. We have set up a few areas for people who relate to teens (such as parents, counselors and medical professionals). But the interactive features of the Resource Center are restricted to teens only. That means that all participating teens' privacy will be respected. Only teens and our community organizers will have access to the chat rooms, message boards and mailing list. However, in the rare case that we we see an emergency situation or dangerous, illegal or abusive behavior, we may have to contact the police, parents or other responsible parties.

If you have any questions, comments or concerns, please contact us by e-mail. We will work with you to resolve these matters as expeditiously as possible.

Kind Regards,

Rich O'Boyle (ElderCare Online) and Eric Hall (LIAF)
